Iron triangles on magnetic board, hand painted with airbrush. CROMOBLOCK is a moving canvas painting-sculpture hybrid , dynamic artwork composed of repositionable modules.

Each work can be mixed with the others in order to create different works and unique compositions.

Cromoblock è il nuovo progetto dell’artista Riccardo Ten Colombo: su tavole magnetiche, triangoli equilateri e triangoli rettangoli in ferro verniciato con colori industriali si dispongono secondo un preciso disegno ideato dall’artista, a formare composizioni di cubi e parallelepipedi che si stagliano e pare fuoriescano dal fondo nero, grazie alla illusione tridimensionale che il loro assemblage restituisce allo sguardo.

Una potenza plastica ed una energia dinamica, unite a una notevole politezza formale, rendono questi lavori magnetici anche per lo sguardo che viene attratto all’interno del campo generatore di forme, e al contempo chiamato ad analizzarne il processo compositivo. Ma la seduzione visuale attira il riguardante per invitarlo ad un intervento a sua volta generativo: gli elementi compositivi possono essere scomposti e rimodulati sulla tavola che li attira e compone. La percezione e l’esperienza visuali chiedono una reazione interattiva allo spettatore, chiamato a fruire l’opera dinamicamente e liberamente.

Cosa accadrà?

Neppure l’artista può saperlo: l’opera, messa al mondo dalla sua capacità ideativa e costruttiva, può essere ogni volta trasformata, rimessa al mondo da chi la possiede.

EN Cromoblock – Painting-sculpture hybrid remodulable

​

Cromoblock is the new project by the artist Riccardo Ten Colombo. Equilateral and right-angled triangles of iron, painted with industrial colors, are arranged on magnetic boards, according to a precise design to form cubes and parallelepipeds compositions that emerge from the black background, thanks to their three-dimensional illusion. Magnetic tables and geometric shapes create dynamic three-dimensional configuration,

potentially always in transformation: in fact, the viewer can actively modify the artworks. Color, perception, experience and interaction are the crucial elements of this new production, that, due to its language and research, is placed along the historical line of the international kinetic and programmed avant-gardes.

The plastic power and the dynamic energy are combined with a remarkable form, thereby these artworks are magnetic also for the gaze, attracted to the form-generating field. The visual seduction attracts the viewer and invites him to take an interactive action: the compositional elements can be broken down and remodeled on the table.

What will happen?

Not even the artist knows: the artwork, brought into the world by its own creative and constructive capacity, can be transformed every time by its owner.
